Miami Hosts 16th MRO Americas 2011 Exhibition

General Manager Thouki Stavris and Director of Purchasing and Sales Michael Kevrekidis from Icarus International Group were among the 6,000 executives and industry professionals representing nearly the entire spectrum of business in the aviation aftermarket industry in attendance at the 16th MRO Americas 2011. Representatives from I2I Engines, a partner company of Icarus International, also participated in the world’s largest industry event intended to help develop professional relationships and give companies exposure to new technology.

Icarus International has launched a new corporate website. This new site is designed and engineered to capture the essence and professional online presence of the company. User friendly, fast, and efficient, the new website reflects the business philosophy of Icarus and provides customers with an updated and faster inventory search engine, an RFQ module, a new Feature Components field, and a more up-to-date user interface.

New CF6-50 engine

Icarus International reached an agreement with Pacific Aviation Group in Victorville, California for the sale of a CF6-50E2 engine operated by Cathay Pacific. This engine will be transported to I2I Engines in Miami for disassembly. Some of these parts will be used on other serviceable CF6-50 engines, while most parts will be overhauled and added to our own parts inventory.

He will hit the ground running with Icarus, taking a position that is responsible for the oversight and development of the company’s further success. With seventeen years of experience in the European and U.S. markets, Mr. Kevrekidis brings his vast professional knowledge with him to give Icarus a competitive edge as they seek to expand in those regions. A graduate of BBC of Paramus in New Jersey, Mr. Kevrekidis has also continued his education in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, and Greece through programs that emphasized sales and business.

I2I Engines Receives FAA Approval

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recently approved I2I Engines, LLC as Certified Repair Station No. 21ER163B. With this certification I2I Engines, a joint venture of Icarus International Group and International Aerospace Group Corp., is authorized as a repair station for the General Electric CF6 engine model series. Utilizing a network of strategic partnerships, I2I Engines can manage the entire overhaul process for that engine series.

“We have been able to provide our customers with engine disassembly from module to individual component level in pass but at this time we can provide complete engine overhaul for the CF6 Engine Model Series” said I2IEngines Chief Operations Officer Mauricio Luna, “We offer a unique service to our customers. We are able to provide, engine model repair and/or replacement, component inventory stock, component repair management and engine testing to significantly reduce the total cost of ownership of the engine.”

This capability to overhaul the widely-used CF6 engine series is in addition to the disassembly service I2I Engines also provides for the JT9D series, RB211-524/535, and CMF56-3 models.
